Automated Waste Analysis for Bins
Deployed on conveyor belts throughout the different stages of the recovery process, VITRON provides real-time waste characterization enabling data-driven decisions to enhance operational and economic performance.
WIDEN is a waste identification API that you can seamlessly connect to your mobile app to enable users to scan and identify the waste item and throw it in the right bin; promoting green social behavior.
WIBIN monitors the waste feed in bins and reports on the type, quality and quantity of waste to help the concerned stakeholders make informed decisions and manage their operations accordingly.
Manual sampling and auditing of the waste streams give a snapshot at a certain point in time where less than 1% of the waste is touched in the MRF. These audits are time-consuming, error-prone and disruptive to the operations.
85% of recyclables are lost to the environment every year whether in our oceans or landfills. What will worsen the problem is the lack of visibility over unrecovered recyclables in the system.
Contamination, which results from poor sorting at source and error-prone manual sorting, deteriorates the value of recyclables by up to 50% & reduces the quality of the end recycled product.
The change of the composition of waste streams poses challenges to the processing of waste in the MRF and confuses people around the recyclability of the newly introduced items.
The MIT Arab Startup Demo Day is a platform to showcase MENA-based (or focused) startups.
