Deployed on conveyor belts throughout the different stages of the recovery process, Vitron provides real-time waste characterization enabling data-driven decisions to enhance operational and economic performance.

The software collects data on waste to automate auditing, risk alerts, to point out inefficiencies and poor management. This helps increase recycling rates by taking suitable decisions based on data provided by the software. The data collected analyses and predicts waste generation and disposal trends, enabling you to plan for future waste treatment projects.

The computer vision software is connected to a camera that is installed above a conveyor belt in any waste sorting facility and gives real time detection on waste flows. Diwama (Reseco) – a smart waste container that sorts paper, cardboard, plastics, cans, glass and electronic waste from a household waste bag won first place at the 2020 Berytech e-Hackathon, the first virtual hackathon focusing on clean technology organized by Berytech under the Cleanergy Program, and supported by the Embassy of The Kingdom of The Netherlands in Lebanon.

The MIT Arab Startup Demo Day is a platform to showcase MENA-based (or focused) startups. Each selected startup will be given the opportunity to pitch their startup to a wide audience which includes early-stage investors. They will also receive a virtual booth to showcase their work and interact with the public.
